Privacy Policy
The law firms that participate in American Mortgage Audits ("MFL") (the "Law Firms," "we," or "us") want to be sure that you get superior service and quality products. We are also concerned about the privacy of your personal information. We are sending you this notice to help you understand how we may collect nonpublic personal information about you, the type of information we may collect, and what information we may disclose about you. The same rules apply to former clients as apply to current clients.
When we use the terms "nonpublic personal information," we mean personally identifiable information that is not publicly available, such as your social security number, credit score and certain mortgage information.
Sources of Nonpublic Person Information We Collect
We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:
- Information we receive from you on applications, enrollment contracts or other forms or over the internet or telephone.
- Information we receive about your debts/mortgage from your mortgage holder, creditors and others that may have a relationship with your or your creditors.
- Information regarding your credit history that we receive from a consumer reporting agency.
Sharing Information with Our Affiliates: Unless you tell us not to (called "opt out"), we may share all of the nonpublic personal information we collect, as described above, with companies in our corporate family (called "affiliates").
Sharing Information with Nonaffiliated Third Parties: Unless you tell us not to (called "opt out"), we may share all of the nonpublic personal information we collect, as described above, with nonaffiliated companies outside our corporate family. We will share this information when we believe these other companies are able to extend services or products that might be of value to you. These other companies may be financial service providers (such as insurance agents).
We also may disclose any nonpublic personal information to anyone as permitted by law. For example, we disclose information about you to third parties with your consent or at your direction or if disclosure is necessary to effect, administer, or enforce your transaction with us. Further, we will share your nonpublic personal information with your creditors and service providers that assist us with the functions that we provide on your behalf pursuant to your debt settlement program or other service for which you have engaged us.
In addition, we may disclose all of the information we collect, as described above, to companies that perform services and functions, including marketing services, on our behalf and we may disclose some of this information to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements.
Protection of Your Information
We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information.
How to Opt Out (Direct Us not to Share Certain Information)
Opt Out for Nonaffiliated Third Parties: If you prefer that we not share information with companies outside our corporate family, you may direct us not to share information by calling MFL toll free at (888) 357-3247, and instructing MFL to inform us of your desire to opt out. You may also call us directly at the toll free number we give you in your engagement package. An opt out by one consumer will be treated as an opt out for all joint consumers for the same product, account, or service you have with us. Note: Even if you direct us not to share information with companies outside our corporate family, we may disclose nonpublic personal information as permitted by law and to companies that perform services and functions, including marketing services, on our behalf. We also may disclose some of this information to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements.
Opt Out for Affiliates: If you prefer that we not share information with our corporate affiliates, you may direct us not to share information by calling MFL toll free at 866-993-5070, and instructing MFL to inform us of your desire to opt out. You may also call us directly at the toll free number we give you in your engagement package. An opt out by one consumer will be treated as an opt out for all joint consumers for the same product, account, or service you have with us. Note: Even if you direct us not to share information with our affiliates, we may still share with our affiliates information about our direct experiences and transactions with you as permitted by law.
Policy Change
We reserve the right to change our privacy policy and this privacy notice from time to time. We will notify you in writing of significant changes to our privacy policies and will prominently post the current version of our privacy policy on our website. Until we obtain your consent, we will continue to handle your nonpublic personal information in the same manner as when we initially collected it from you.
